The Great Goosecapade: A Short Story Collection

About

This book is a collection of short stories based on things I’ve experienced and seen through my years as a teacher, mother, and farm girl in farms in Ohio and New York and others are set in rural SE Texas. Many are inspired by my move from a suburban lifestyle to a farm. Farm issues involve raising and butchering chickens, milking goats, organic gardening, dealing with leeches, groundhogs adn feral cats, and raising alpacas. Raising and selling hogs included adopting one as a pet and bringing her into the house. Learning how to shear alpacas was part of the fun as well as donating some to the local zoo. We also had a farm retail store to sell alpaca products. The first farm was when I was young and the second is now, when I’m not. Small town Texas storeis deal with prejudice, learning to drive and digging graves for pets (twice). Most have humor, but a few are serious. I hope you enjoy them.
